This is a safari with a mix of everything. From Game Drives, Excursions Crowned by the greatest of theme all, the spectacular Wildebeest Migration. At the Mara crossing is where you witness the unparalleled sensation of one of the seven wonders of the world.
Day 1. Nairobi – Samburu
Depart Nairobi through Central highlands country side countryside by Thika which boasts the world’s third largest pineapple plantation and Karatina the second largest open air market in Africa.
Drive further north across the equator to Samburu National Reserve past Mount Kenya,
eventually heading north to a dusty outpost known as Isiolo. From here it’s a fairly short hop to arrive at around 1400 hours in time for lunch.
After lunch proceed for an afternoon game drive in the park famous as the place for the Samburu semi-nomadic tribesmen, the reticulated giraffe, the Gravy’s zebra gerenuk, beisa Oryx and a host of the big game including elephant and lion. Meals and overnight at Ashnil Luxury tented camp.
Day 2. Samburu
Full day in Samburu, This extraordinary region of Kenya is characterized by a vast, open landscape including forests, rock outcroppings, dried riverbeds, thorn scrubs, red dirt and volcanic rock. You may observe Africa’s rarest game including the long-necked gerenuk, Somali ostrich, the shy Beisa oryx and the reticulated giraffe.
All meals and overnight at Ashnil luxury tented camp
Day 3. Samburu – Solio
Depart Samburu after breakfast and drive to the lower slopes of Mt. Kenya. Arrive at tented camp Located on the slopes of Mt Kenya. Arrive at Rhino Watch lodge in time for Lunch. The Tents and Chalets offer an inviting atmosphere, a home away from home that animals are never out of sight. The white Rhino has a sanctuary here. The private sanctuary is also home to lions, cheetah, elands and impalas.
Return to dinner for overnight stay.
Day 4: Solio -Naivasha
Today we depart from the highlands of Kenya to the Great Rift Valley. Lake Naivasha is at the floor of the Great Rift Valley. It is one of the fresh water lakes. It is home to thousands of animals that call the surrounding area home. You can experience an extra ordinary safari on foot. Walk among the herbivores and experience nature closeness.
An optional excursion is to experience a boat ride among the hippos .A bird walk can be highly rewarding too.
Return to lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 5: Lake Naivasha –Masai Mara game reserve.
Masai Mara is the Epic home to thousands of wildlife. It is a destination like no other. A reason why it has been recognized as a world wonder. Birds, too, are prolific. Including migrants, well over 450 species have been recorded, among them, 57 species of birds of prey.
The climate is gentle, rarely too hot and well-spread rainfall year round. Rain, when it falls almost always chooses the late afternoon or night. Between July and October, when the great wildebeest migration is in the Maasai Mara National Reserve, the sensation is unparalleled.
Dinner and overnight at Mara Serena Lodge.
Day 6&7: Maasai Mara Game Reserve
Early morning games drive in the Mara. Later, return to the lodge for breakfast.
Rest of the morning at leisure after lunch at the lodge; proceed for an afternoon game drive till dusk with a toast at sundowner before we return to lodge for dinner and overnight.
Dinner and overnight at Mara Serena.
Day 5: Maasai Mara – Nairobi
We shall have breakfast at the lodge. Later return to Nairobi arriving in time for lunch. We have reserved a day room at the Nairobi Serena. Dinner at Pampers Charruscaria or Carnivore restaurant. Later you will be transferred to the airport for your outbound flight.
